Metaphor: ReFantaziois the latest RPG from Atlus, the folks behind the Persona series. In fact, this is the same team that handled Persona 5, so you can expect the same sort of stattention to detail and emphasis on visual flair. This one is a little bit different however, namely in its fantasy setting. You’ll still foster relationships with allies that can then assist you in combat, but don’t expect to be attending classes, or hanging out in dorm rooms.
What setsMetaphor: ReFantazioapart from other RPGs this year is its dark, politically-focused story, which touches on themes of corruption, hopelessness in the face of an election, and more. The combat is smooth, the soundtrack is bumping, and the characters are diverse and memorable. Absolutely one to check out on Steam.

Dragon’s Dogma 2reimagines the first game, bringing an iconic classic into the modern day. Everything from the visuals to the combat has been improved, though there’s still plenty to love for fans of the original game. InDragon’s Dogma 2, you play the Arisen, a powerful being whose destiny it is to slay a dragon. Along the way, you’ll recruit a team of Pawns, constantly shuffling it around to compliment your own set of skills. There’s a variety of classes to try out, level up, and master, allowing you to experiment with different play styles.
What setsDragon’s Dogma 2apart from its peers is its emergent gameplay. You’ll climb up hulking monsters, throw Pawns into better positions, and throw boulders at enemies to knock them down. It’s all a bit silly and slapstick, complimenting the game’s wacky medieval story perfectly. WhileDragon’s Dogma 2hasn’t been out long yet, we’re betting it cleans up at Game of the Year awards at the end of the year. We’ll have to wait and see.
10. Elden Ring

Despite its size,Elden Ringmanages to feel extremely structured at the same time. How we made this best Steam games list
This list of the best Steam games was built with diversity in mind. Rather than narrowly focus on a single genre or type of play, we felt it was best to offer as broad an approach as possible to Steam’s exhaustive library of titles.
There are plenty of titles, such as charming roguelikeHadesor gripping puzzlerPortal 2,that would have been right at home on this list. However, we wanted to show off a blend of modern and more classical titles to ensure a more well-rounded survey of available games which means that some ‘obvious’ choices have been overlooked in favor of hidden gems. In that spirit, we wanted to platform several strong indie titles, since Valve’s digital distribution system is a great way to access games that you wouldn’t often see in brick-and-mortar stores.
