Cyber Monday smartwatch sales (US)

Apple Watch 7 (41mm, GPS):$399.99$379.99 at AmazonSave $19.01 -Right now at Amazon you can get a 5% discount off theApple Watch 7with a clover, red or starlight sport band. That’s not a huge discount but remember, this is a brand-new smartwatch and it’s in high demand, so any reduction at all is nice to see. While we normally would advocate holding out till Black Friday, it’s a good idea to get your order in early if you want a speedy delivery - this is, after all, the lowest price we’ve seen yet on this device.

Apple Watch SE (40mm, GPS):$279$239 at Amazon (save $40)This is Apple’s budget-friendly smartwatch and with a $40 discount it’s even more budget-friendly than usual. Don’t think the price makes this a lesser wearable though – it has many of the same features as Apple’s top smartwatches. This discount is for the compact 40mm version, so it won’t look large on your wrist either.

Apple Watch Series 6 (40mm, GPS):$374$319 at WalmartSave $55 -Last year’s top-tier Apple Watch was the Series 6, which has all the same features as the newer Apple Watch 7 - the S6 processor, blood oxygen monitoring, ECG app, and elevation tracking - but a 20% smaller screen. It’s discontinued now, which is why the price is so low. Still, we rated the Series 6four out of five starswhen we tested it, and it remains one of the standout wearables you can buy - at under $350 it’s a bargain.

Apple Watch Series 3, 38mm:$199$169 at Best BuySave $30 -We saw the Series 3 as low as $109 for Black Friday, but the stock was supremely limited and this is still a solid deal for the Apple Watch 3. This one’s an older device but it’s still a great smartwatch and worthy of the4.5 out of 5 starswe gave it in our review. It’s slower and less feature-rich than the SE, plus it’s likely to lose watchOS support in the next few years. If you want a truly cheap Apple Watch, it’s the best.

Apple Watch 5 GPS and Cellular, 44mm:$749$459 at AmazonSave $290 -Right now on Amazon you can grab theApple Watch 5with cellular data at a saving of $290. That’s for the 44mm model, and it’s almost the lowest price ever, so this deal is well worth considering if you want a powerful smartwatch to pair with your iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 | 44mm | GPS:$279.99$229.99 at Amazon (save $50)This is the bigger version of the standard Galaxy Watch 4, for if you like your big screens and chunky watches. The cellular version is also on sale, useful for if you want to use it without your smartphone.44mm | GPS & cellular:$329.99$279.99 at Amazon (save $50)

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classic | 46mm | GPS:$379.99$323 at Amazon (save $55)This is a big and bougie smartwatch, especially if you opt for the cellular version, and the discount will barely help you there.46mm | GPS & cellular:$429.99$379.99 at Amazon (save $50)

Samsung Galaxy Watch 3 | 45mm | Bluetooth:$480$330 at Amazon (save $150)If you want a big 45mm smartwatch at a hefty saving then you could do worse than thisSamsung Galaxy Watch 3at a $150 discount. That knocks a healthy 31% off the price, and is a great deal for an older but still highly capable Samsung wearable.

Fossil Men’s Gen 6 44mm:$299$229 at AmazonSave $90– The Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch is one that’s actually ready for the future, as it will support the upcoming Wear OS 3 in 2022. It’s got powerful capabilities, a fantastic design wrapped around a solid AMOLED display, and it’s nearly $100 off right now.

Fitbit Versa 3:$229.95$179.95 at FitbitSave $50- TheFitbit Versa 3is one of the latest and most high-tech Fitbit wearables, so a $50 saving is notable. Fitbit Sense:$299.95$189.95 at AmazonSave $110 -TheFitbit Senseis one of the more stylish smartwatches in Fitbit’s range and this is the best discount we’ve seen yet on it. In our review we were fond of its GPS, its comfort, and its mood and stress tracking, but noted that some features require Fitbit Premium.

Fitbit Versa 2:$199.95$118.99 at WalmartSave $81 -Walmart’s Deals for Days sale has the feature-packed Fitbit Versa 2 smartwatch on sale for a record-low price of $118.99. The smartwatch provides a remarkable six-day battery life and allows you to store 300 or so songs on your wrist.

Garmin Forerunner 45 (42mm):$194.95$119.99 at AmazonSave $74.96- The Garmin Forerunner 45 is a feature-packed and lightweight running watch, and right now the red 42mm model is reduced by 33% at Amazon. We praised its value in our 4-star review, and that was before this discount, so it’s a top entry-level choice for runners and anyone trying to get fit - just note that it doesn’t do well at swim tracking.

Garmin Forerunner 45S (39mm):$199$119.99 at AmazonSave $79.01- Right now you can grab the Garmin Forerunner 45S for just $129.99 - that’s a 35% reduction. That’s for the wearable in black, and the ‘S’ denotes its small 39mm size - that aside this is the same great running and fitness tracking watch as the standard Forerunner 45. So if you want a compact wearable that excels at basic run tracking then this is the one to go for.

Garmin Forerunner 245 Music:$349.99$249.99 at AmazonSave $100- This affordable wearable from Garmin is now even more affordable, with a saving of 29%. Garmin Fenix 6S Pro:$649.99$449.99 at GarminSave $200- Whether you run, ride, ski, surf or do a range of other sports, the Garmin Fenix 6S Pro can track you, and now it can do so without emptying your wallet, as it’s down to just $449.99, saving you $200 off the standard price.

Garmin Fenix 6X Pro:$699.99$499.99 at GarminSave $200- The Fenix 6X Pro is reduced by $200 right now, making this exceptional wearable all the more tempting. This is a great deal on a device that’s packed full of sensors and features, making it ideal for serious athletes and outdoorspeople.

Garmin Vivoactive 4S:$349.99$199.99 at Best BuySave $150- The Garmin Vivoactive 4S is a great way to keep track of your heart rate, energy levels and more during the day. Then when you work out properly you can also track your fitness more in depth, with GPS and workout tracking. This watch is designed to have mainstream appeal rather than being built for real athletes, but it’s a step up from a basic tracker, and right now it’s available at a big $150 discount.

Tips for buying a smartwatch

If you’re buying a smartwatch on Cyber Monday then it’s worth knowing what to look for. That means both knowing which watches are worth buying, and being able to tell how to spot a genuinely good deal. Below we’ve provided some tips for both of those things.

  1. Do your research

It’s worth knowing which smartwatches you’re interested in ahead of time, so you don’t have to research them when you spot a deal - and potentially miss out in the process.

To make it easier to decide on a wearable, we’ve created guides to thebest smartwatchand thebest cheap smartwatch, so they’re great places to start.

  1. Spot the genuine deals

Just because a deal has a big flashy 50% reduction or similar on it, that doesn’t actually always mean that you’ll pay 50% less than you would elsewhere. Sometimes the price that they’ve started from is higher than you’d typically pay, so the deal looks better at a glance than it really is.

It’s worth therefore looking at the actual price you’ll pay as much as the apparent reduction, and also comparing the price to what other stores are charging. Keep an eye on TechRadar too, because we’ll be highlighting all the best deals on and around Cyber Monday.

  1. Older models are the ones to watch

While you might find a slight reduction on this year’s smartwatches, most of the biggest savings will be on wearables that came out in 2020 or earlier. That’s even more true if a newer model in the range has launched since.

So rather than theSamsung Galaxy Watch 4, consider theGalaxy Watch 3, or instead of theApple Watch7, consider anApple Watch 6. There’s always a chance that a major deal will emerge for a new device, but generally the best discounts will be found on these slightly older models.

Cyber Monday smartwatch FAQ

When will the best Cyber Monday smartwatch deals start in 2021?

Cyber Monday itself is on November 29 this year, so the actual Cyber Monday deals can be expected on that day, but sales could start far earlier. At the very least, it’s Black Friday on November 26, so that day and the following weekend will be packed full of deals too.

We’d expect to see a number of smartwatch deals in the run up to Cyber Monday and Black Friday too, so keep an eye on this article for any highlights, but the best ones will probably be between November 26 and November 29.

Where will the best Cyber Monday smartwatch deals be?

We’ll be highlighting all the best Cyber Monday smartwatch deals on this page, but there are certain sites that are likely to host many such deals if you want to dig them up yourself. Our top picks are below.

Top US retailersAmazon:a wide selection of smartwatches at excellent pricesBest Buy:expect big discounts on lots of smartwatchesWalmart:good deals and free shipping on smartwatchesTopUK retailersAmazon:likely to host some of the best smartwatch deals in the UKCurrys:discounts and free delivery on smartwatchesJohn Lewis:sales and extended warranties on premium smartwatches

Should I wait for Cyber Monday smartwatch deals?

Whether you should wait or not partly depends on what smartwatch you’re after. As we’ve noted elsewhere in this article, we wouldn’t expect the Apple Watch 7 will get much of a discount if it gets reduced at all.

This is a very recent model and it’s in high demand, so there’s no reason for retailers to reduce it. That high demand also means you might find there’s a wait to get hold of it too – so you might want to put your order in sooner rather than later.

To a lesser extent, other recent smartwatches such as the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 andSamsung Galaxy Watch 4 Classicare also probably worth buying now rather than waiting. While they’re unlikely to sell out, they probably won’t get heavily reduced either, so you might as well strap one to your wrist sooner.

But for older wearables it’s definitely worth waiting, as there are likely to be big discounts on some. And if you’re not in a hurry then there’s no harm in waiting even if you have your eye on a recent device, as it’s always possible that there will be reductions.

3 best smartwatches to watch out for

1. Apple Watch SE

Our expert review:

TheApple Watch SEis a mid-range smartwatch but it tops our list of thebest smartwatchesyou can buy, as it offers much of what makes theApple Watch 6so great but at a much lower price.

It’s worth noting that our best smartwatch guide doesn’t include the Apple Watch 7 at the time of writing, as we’re yet to put that through a full review. So it’s possible the Apple Watch SE won’t have the number one spot for long, but either way it’s a great wearable and a great mid-range choice.

On Cyber Monday we’d expect it will be even better value too, as last year it saw some small discounts, and this year if anything it might get more heavily reduced.

2. Samsung Galaxy Watch 4

Our expert review:

TheSamsung Galaxy Watch 4is a great high-end Wear OS smartwatch. As a relatively recent wearable it probably won’t be subject to massive Cyber Monday discounts, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s reduced at least a little.

It’s packed full of health and fitness tracking features, including a body composition monitor, which isn’t something its major rivals offer. However, it doesn’t work with iPhones, and if you have a non-Samsung Android phone then you’ll miss out on some features.

Still, for Samsung phone owners this is one of the best and most high-tech smartwatches available, so keep an eye out for it on Cyber Monday.

3. Fitbit Versa Lite

Our expert review:

The Fitbit Versa Lite tops our list of thebest cheap smartwatches, and it could be even cheaper on Cyber Monday, as Fitbits tend to get discounted during this yearly sale.

As the name suggests, it’s a more basic version of the Fitbit Versa, but while it lacks some features such as Fitbit Pay and music storage, this is still a stylish smartwatch that’s well suited to tracking your activity.

So assuming this ends up substantially cheaper than the standard Versa on Cyber Monday, we highly recommend it if you want a fitness-focused smartwatch bargain.
