AMD RX 6500 XT spotted in Lenovo PC, suggesting the GPU could arrive soon

AMD’sRX 6500 XT, the rumored incominggraphics card, has been spotted listed in aLenovogaming PC, making it seem more likely that this budget GPU is nearing release, as previous speculation has suggested.

The leaked Lenovo product in question is the Legion T5 PC, although the listing for this machine has since been pulled, but not before hardware leaker Komachi_Ensakapostedthe details on Twitter (as highlighted byVideoCardz).

The Legion T5’s spec sheet showed that one of the options for this rig is a Radeon RX 6500 XT which has 4GB of GDDR6 video memory, although no other specs were provided save for display outputs (HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4a).

Presumably, Lenovo accidentally aired this graphics card before realizing its mistake, which is why the details were then yanked down.

Analysis: A hopeful sign that the budget GPU market is about to get some attention

We’ve already heard about the possibility of theRX 6500 series being inboundsince March 2021, and more recent rumors have insisted that the graphics card willhit shelves come mid-January, with the purported spec being that it’ll run with 1,024 stream processors (and that it’s based around the Navi 24 GPU). The further theory is that there will be a cheaper RX 6400 model with 768 stream processors (and also 4GB of RAM).

While the 4GB of RAM on-board may sound rather unimpressive for the RX 6500, the truth is it should be just fine for 1080p gaming if graphics settings are toned down somewhat to middling levels (generally speaking, but of course performance will obviously vary in different titles depending on how taxing they are).

The GPU market is positively crying out for options at the budget end, and so the spotting of the RX 6500 in an actual product listing is another good sign that it’s coming.Nvidiawill fortunately have other options arriving on the wallet-friendly GPU table, too, with the RTX 3050 apparently in the wings, whichcould be out late in January, though it’s also beenrumored for Q2 2022.

Meantime on the Team Green front, right now there’s the resurrected RTX 2060 12GB which has been officially released (albeit quietly), but in practice,this graphics card is not yet available to buy, much to the frustration of some gamers.
